Two Sides Of The Same Coin
Two Sides Of The Same Coin
Ever wonder why you’re going along merrily one day, on top of the mountain, praising God and feeling like a super Christian and then, the next moment turn into a ogre? Evil thoughts, wrong action or something you did or said that makes you question your very salvation. How could I possibly be a believer when…?
Well, there’s an answer and and a solution for that. It’s found in the very genesis of our DNA.
In Genesis 2, we see the beginning of two sides of the same coin, Adam and Eve, (1 Timothy 2:14) We see it in Cain and Abel (John 1: 3:12) We see it in Isaac and Ishmael, we see it Essau and Jacob (Romans 9:13) David and Saul and of course while not entirely the same coin obviously we can contrast Judas and Jesus (Luke 22: 48) – not in a worldly sense but contrasting humanity with divinity. Then we see the apostle Paul struggle with this “war in his members “ (Romans 7 & 8) the battle alive and evil, while the spirit is alive and well – The solution lies in believing and trusting explicitly the promise of God, the Word of God and resolutely putting faith that, while you are aware that there are indeed two sides to your coin, the Head rules the tail!

Dry Cry
Dry Cry
1 Samuel 3
3 Now the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation.
“ The word of the Lord was rare in those days “ what an alarming statement!
As I sat this morning really drained from the last two years of pandemic squeeze (winter not helping either) I was asking the Lord in prayer “Why is it that your people are not hearing a clear word from you about what is going on with this thing and when is it going to end and what should we do?.” There’s so much confusion and varying opinions about everything, that it is mentally fatiguing to say the least. I felt so “DRY” in such a state of malaise. This stirring in the depths of my soul caused a “CRY” unto the Lord. Then I heard the word from the book of 1st Samuel and I realized what this “DRY CRY” was about. There are times, when we as believers, may not hear clearly from God, both individually as well as collectively. I believe this time we’re in is a “collective deafening” of hearing and I can’t say I know why for certain, otherwise I’d readily give you the word I heard.
What I do know though, is that we must continue to press in to seek the Lord, perhaps to fast and pray until His Light breaks forth out of this darkness we’re in. It took Samuel 3 times to finally recognize His voice.
If you know Christ in a personal way, then do not think He has forsaken us “Never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). If you do not know God in a deeper personal way, then I suggest you begin to “Seek and you shall find “ (Matthew 7:7)
Either way the Dry Cry may turn the desert into streams of living water. Lord we pray “speak for your servants are listening.”

Deep In The Waters of Gods Word
Deep In The Waters of Gods Word
As a non swimmer, deep water has always left me trepidatious. Although I have a love of being close to the sea, I also have an equally healthy respect for its power. In the Bible, water has come to symbolize many things, none the least are, the “washing of the word and the power of the word.”
When the flood waters of life seem to wash over you, the washing of the word can hold back those waves. When Peter slipped, while walking to Jesus, he had started wading in waters above his neck. Jesus in rebuking the waves and wind showed the power of His Word over the power of the water.
The written word is like that, the power it wields is “living and active “. The greatest power is in the deep ocean of study. Sometimes we need to step further out of the boat of simply reading the odd passage, glancing at a devotional, tuning into a Sunday sermon and deep dive into the deeper things that God wants to share.
Ultimately this water experience leads you (through His words) to He Himself, the Living Word. We are admonished to study ourselves approved ” and by now “some of us should be teachers” to move on from milk to meat.
Are you ready to cross the waters? Don’t’ “sink about it “ Think about that
Ezekiel 47 3-7
In the new series called “Spinning Classes” – A spiritual workout in the word of God we go through everything from false doctrine principles to cult leaders, to studying the word and knowing it for yourself. All episodes here

Start Building
Start Building
If you build it they will come goes the line from Field of Dreams. The question is, what are you building? Is it on solid ground? For the follower of Christ there is a different way to look at the focus of anything we build. I think of 3 things when it comes to building a solid walk with the Lord. I call this the ” Trinity of Building”
There are 3 fundamental “Blocks” if you will , pillars that allow us to have a firm footing as we walk.
The first block is, we need to continually Build our personal time of intimacy with God Himself.
The second block is we need to pursue building healthy relationships with one another and
The third block is we need to build ourselves up, especially when there is so much discouragement going around.

I Think About This
I Think About This
This blog is a simple one. I simply want you to consider that in a world filled with so much clutter, being bombarded with daily doses of information, that we really have no time to just simply sit, and well, be simple minded. Somehow our attention has been kidnapped by the purveyors of consumer items, news reels, entertainment as well as people you live and work with. The overload of information and communication is overwhelming.
Think back 50 years ago, I remember conversations, I reflect on quieter times, pondering not just the meaning of life but contemplating a moment in time. We’ve lost that most precious gift of silence, of solitude, of being with oneself, and most importantly with God!
Today, may I ask you to “Think about Thinking.” Setting aside some precious time to be by yourself (not alone, God is with you) and just chilling by yourself, some `me time’. It’s difficult for a lot of us who are always on the move with families and jobs.
However, if you don’t make the time, the time will make you. Make you mad, make you sad, make you waste another day without that beautiful…. Time to think. Yes I do Think about this a lot! Selah
